The Estonian Amateur Athletic Association (Eesti Spordiliit USA) conducted its yearly fall golf gathering at Rob Ashford's Locust Valley golf course on Oct 10th.
16 players turned out to enjoy perfect golf weather for a 2-man team format event.

One in three women around the world have experienced violence at least once in their life.
This tragic percentage applies to women in Estonia, Canada and the United States.
Emergency women’s shelters offer temporary shelter and support to women and their children who have suffered psychological, physical or sexual violence.

October 13, 2020 – (New York City, NY) “Singing Revolution: the Musical” writing duo Tony Spinosa and James Bearhart release the “Never Forget Who You Are” music video from their upcoming musical about peaceful political resistance, inspired by the true story of the 1987-1991 Estonian “Singing Revolution.”
Tony Spinosa and James Bearhart are thrilled to announce the world premiere of the music video, directed and produced by Vivian Säde.

JBANC – Baltic Embassies Meeting
On October 7th, the embassies of Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania and the Joint Baltic American National Committee (JBANC) held their first meeting since the start of the pandemic.
Under normal circumstances, the embassies and JBANC meet three to four times annually to discuss upcoming events, policy and legislative priorities, and other items of mutual interest.

World's Oldest Estonian Lives in New Jersey
Illa Toompuu, who will celebrate her 108th birthday on October 26, was born in St. Petersburg in 1912 and currently lives in Lakewood, New Jersey.
She holds the honorable title of the oldest Estonian in the world, following the passing in August of Marta Kivi in Rapla at the age of 108 and 201 days.

Statue of Poet Kalju Lepik Unveiled
A statue of Estonian poet Kalju Lepik, who fled Estonian in 1944 and is considered to be one of the country's greatest poets in expressing longing for his homeland, was unveiled in his hometown of Koeru on the eve of the 100th anniversary of his birth.
Lepik is depicted as a young boy sitting on a boulder, reading.
