Estonian Students Sell Over $10M in Books in the U.S.
374 students from Estonia took part in this summer's Southwest Advantage program, selling educational books door to door totalling over 10 million dollars. Estonians also supervised close to 300 students taking part from neighboring European countries. Estonian students, who receive extensive training before going, have been participating in what has become one of the Baltic's most successful student organizations since 2001.

Bill Clinton Congratulates on 25th anniversary of Russian Troop Withdrawal
The 42nd President of the United States Bill Clinton sent a greeting to Estonia on the 25th anniversary of the final withdrawal of Russian military troops from its soil. Clinton was president of the U.S. at the time of the withdrawal and played an instrumental role in its taking place. Estonia has Received €219 Million in Defense Investments from the U.S.
The United States has allocated close to 219 million euros to Estonia for defense investments between 2015 and 2019. The funds allocated have been used mainly in the sectors of  infrastructure and communication. Meanwhile, the Washington Post reports that the Pentagon will be diverting military funds intended to support construction projects, including those across Europe designed to help allies deter Russia, to pay for President Trump's border barrier.


Pärt is World's Most Performed Composer for Eighth Straight Year
The UK-based classical music website Bachtrack has published an overview of 2018 concert statistics based on 33 578 music events, according to which Arvo Pärt is the world's most featured contemporary composer for the 8th consecutive year. Rounding out the top four following Pärt are John Williams, Jörg Widmann and Sir James MacMillan. The most performed female composer was Finnish composer Kaija Saariaho, based in Paris.
