The city of Tartu and Finnair have come to an agreement concerning the airline's flight schedule at Tartu Airport. The agreement addresses the city's complaint that there were no flights available at sensible times of day.

Starting in April, Finnair is adding flights in the early morning as well as the late evening. The first flight in the morning will be scheduled for 5:35 a.m., and the last one returning to Tartu for arrival at 00:50, according to the city.

The new schedule takes effect on Apr. 28 this year, with flights six days a week. There will be no evening flights from Helsinki to Tartu on weekends, and no flight from Tartu to Helsinki on Sunday morning.

The Mayor of Tartu, Urmas Klaas said he is happy with the outcome of the negotiations. The new schedule will make sure travelers get better access to connecting flights in Helsinki, and also make it possible to travel to the Finnish capital just for the day, said Klaas.
