This title is from a New York Times feature story about junior tennis player Ingrid Neel on their sport’s page March 7, 2011. Ingrid is of Estonian descent, the granddaughter of Ingrid Vaga Neel, MD of Rochester, Minnesota, whose brother, Pastor Thomas Vaga of Lakewood, NJ is well known to Estonians.
Tennis legend John McEnroe has offered Ingrid an opportunity to train at his new tennis academy, Sportstime club on Randalls Island, New York City.
Ingrid has been playing tennis since age six and currently is ranked first in her section in the USTA 18 and under competitors. She is ranked in the top ten nationally in the 12 and under group and has won National, Little Mo, and International titles in her class. She still trains in Minnesota and gets special coaching at IMG Bolettieri Tennis Academy in Florida and at the McEnroe academy. John McEnroe says that " if Ingrid can make it through a session with me, she can make it anywhere".
