ESTO Young Delegates to Create Global Network
The motto of the ESTO 2019 festival, which just drew to a close in Tallinn, was “Our Future”. 66 young delegates were chosen to attend the festival from 27 countries across the globe in the hopes that they will carry on organizing and promoting activities in their local Estonian communities.
Cybersecurity Cooperation Between Estonia and U.S. Reaches New Level
Cooperation between Estonia and the United States in the area of cybersecurity has been fruitful through the years, and has now reached a new level, foreign minister Urmas Reinsalu said following consultations in Estonia between his ministry and the U.S. Department of State in the end of June.
XII Global Estonian Festival ESTO 2019 Festival Has Ended
ESTO opening ceremonies took place in Helsinki, Finland on June 28 with Estonia’s President Kersti Kaljulaid participating. She was also on hand for the National Congress later on in the week in Tallinn. ESTO was in the planning phase for many years with the help of about a hundred people worldwide. The Head of ESTO’s planning committee was Sirle Sööt, who heads the Association of Estonians in Sweden.
Worldwide Media Coverage of the Song and Dance Celebration
Journalists from the television channels of over 17 countries will be coming to Estonia to cover the Song and Dance Celebration in Tallinn on July 4-7. More than 100 journalists have been accredited, of whom 22 hail from Germany. The U.S. will be represented by the New York Times, Forbes and Vanity Fair among others. AP and Reuters will also be covering events.
