Growing number of Finnish retirees are moving to Estonia for cheaper prices and more comfortable living.
The number of retirees has increased steadily in recent years, writes Swedish-language daily Hufvudstadsbladet. According to them, in 2014, 1,184 Finnish pensioners lived in Estonia, some 200 more than the previous year.
The lower cost of living and a more comfortable lifestyle are cited as key reasons for moving to Tallinn.
“We found that we could get a seaside apartment in central Tallinn for much less than in Helsinki,” one expat told the paper.
