The Connecticut Estonian Society’s annual film event occurred on Saturday, January 28th. This year’s film, “Eia Jõulud Tondikakul” (Eia’s Christmas at Phantom Owl), was an emotionally uplifting family story set in a beautifully forested area of Estonia. The cinematography was outstanding, fully capturing the natural beauty of the forest and the abundant wildlife. The film dealt with human relationships, love, compassion, and the power of forgiveness. The film was projected onto a silver screen with a fine Bose sound system adding to the viewing experience. More than twenty people watched the movie while sitting at tables slowly sipping wine and enjoying tasty finger foods. The event was a warm and friendly opportunity for members of the Connecticut Estonian community to share time together while enjoying a fine Estonian film (with English subtitles). Conn.
