On January 25, 2011, Embassy Tallinn opened its fourth American Corner in Estonia. The Corner is in Tartu and joins the three existing American Corners in Kuressaare, Viljandi and Narva. Our diplomatic mission encompasses all of Estonia, not only Tallinn, and the American Corners allow us to more readily engage the people of Estonia. They provide ready access to information about America including on culture, society, politics, and current events.
Our Corner in Tartu is unique in that it shares space with the EducationUSA Advising Center. This center has been located in the University of Tartu library for the past twenty years and has a long history of providing students with excellent resources to pursue educational opportunities in the United States. The addition of our newest Corner will serve to strengthen the already strong bonds of friendship between our nations through facilitating the sharing of information about our people, culture, political system and point of view.
