The Connecticut Estonian Society will hold its annual observance of Victory Day (võidupüha) and St. John’s Night (jaaniõhtu) on June 24th at the Estonian Society’s Land (Eesti maa), 25 Times Farm Road, Andover, CT 06232.
The gate will open at 3:00 p.m. for volleyball and other activities.
A brief program will begin at 5:00 p.m., featuring the honorable Consul, Mr. Tanel Jõks, from the New York City Consulate General’s Office. This will be followed by a BBQ picnic dinner with side dishes and desserts.
After dinner, the traditional Victory Day bonfire will be ceremoniously lit, followed by an evening of singing beloved Estonian songs around the bonfire accompanied by guitar.
People are encouraged to bring lawn chairs.
The donation for dinner is $10 for adults. Children under twelve are free.
