The Connecticut Estonian Society (CES) will hold its traditional Diaspora Estonia Day (väliseesti päeva) pot-luck-style dinner on Satur-day, November 19th, at the Romanian Church (formerly Latvian Church) at 2 Winter Street, Manchester, CT 06040.
As in the past, CES will provide roast pork for the potluck meal and asks guests to bring side dishes and desserts and BYOB. The donation will be $15 for adults, while students are free. Gathering for socializing will begin at 1:30 pm. A short program at 2 pm includes Professor Jaak Rakfeldt, Ph.D., the speech he recently gave in Estonia at the Estonian Parliament conference hall. (The speech will be in English so everyone will understand). His speech strongly urged the members of Parliament to create a day of remembrance for the 80,000 Estonians who fled in September 1944.
Join us for this warm, welcoming, and excellent opportunity to spend time with other members of the Connecticut Estonian community.
