Artist and Cultural Affairs Coordinator at the Consulate General of Estonia in New York, Jaanika Peerna, interviews Marika Blossfeld about her life in 2020.
How has 2020 changed things in your life?
This year has brought me more time to rest and reflect. As soon as the social distancing period began, I allowed myself to sleep at least 8 hours each night, preferably even 9 hours.
After working crazy hours on my new book last winter, I was profoundly grateful for the opportunity to slow down and catch up with rest as well as self-care.
I find myself spending more time in nature and I am so very thankful for that.
It is where I feel most alive and present. By taking in her beauty, I feel held, nourished, soothed, uplifted and inspired.
What do you recommend to the readers so their 2021 will be wholesome and happy?
Make sure to nourish yourself with natural whole foods. These unprocessed foods resonate best with your body and will make you feel grounded and energized. By whole foods, I mean all the food that does not need an ingredient list, food that grows in fields, gardens, in the forest, in natural lakes, seas and oceans. Keep your immunity strong by cutting down on white sugar, white flour and refined oils.
