General elections for EANC’s XXII Council will take place this year. If you value the work we do, consider running for Council – share your thoughts and experience, represent your fellow Estonian Americans, and make a difference! There are many opportunities to work on committees and special projects related to your interests.
Members are elected for four years. The Council size can vary from 20 to 50 members, depending on the number of candidates. The Council meets at least once a year, usually in the Fall, to review past activities and to vote on the upcoming year’s budget and activity plan.
Candidates must live in the United States and be at least 21 years old on the day of the election, and either possess Estonian citizenship or be eligible for it, belong to the Estonian community through family relationship, or certify on the election ballot to being Estonian.
Application forms, instructions, and further information can be obtained from the EANC website (www.estosite.org), or from Jüri Tint, Chair of the Election Committee ([email protected]). Applications must be submitted via e-mail no later than March 31, 2018.
VOTING – Do your part! It is up to you to make sure your viewpoints and concerns are represented!
A final list of candidates will appear in Vaba Eesti Sõna newspaper and on the EANC website (www.estosite.org), together with the election date.
Ballots will be sent to all addresses in the EANC database. If you receive the Teataja newsletter in the mail, then you will receive a ballot. Please notify Linda Rink of any address changes as soon as possible! (Contact: [email protected] or 215-546-5863)
