ERR – Eesti Energia Technology Industries, a subsidiary of state-owned Eesti Energia, is planning to shut down its Narva factory by the end of November, moving production to a similar production facility in Jõhvi.
The move will mean that the current combined staff of the two factories will be downsized from 700 to 620, Postimees reported today.
“The need for uniting the two plants has been there for a few years now,” CEO of the company, Martti Kork said, adding: “The working conditions at the Narva factory were not up to the necessary standards and sizable investments would have been needed.”
EE Technology Industries produces energy and other industrial equipment for a number of corporate clients such as ABB, ALSTOM, METSO and VKG Oil.
