Estonian Day Event In Salisbury Maryland on the Campus of Salisbury University in the Great Room of Halloway Hall at 2:00 PM, Saturday, 11 September 2010.
Also the Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Maryland/Estonian Exchange Council (MEEC) on the campus of Salisbury University in the Montgomery Room of the Commons Building, on Saturday, 11 September 2010. This will be a working lunch with lunch starting at 12:00 noon and the meeting starting at 12:30 PM. Please contact Toivo Tagamets for more details (301-951-7160 & [email protected]). The Estonian Day event will run from about 2:00 until 4:00 PM (or later). It will consists of Estonian choir, Pillerkaar, Estonian Folk Dancers (all individuals are welcome to wear their traditional Estonian dress), members of the Estonian Embassy will be attending, there will be a video playing about Estonia, etc., and there will be refreshments. For everyone’s information Estonia and Maryland are now official Sister States, the city of Salisbury and the city of Tartu are official Sister Cities, Salisbury University and the University of Tartu have a signed partnership, and the Aviation Department of UMES (located only a few miles from Salisbury) has a signed partnership with the Estonian Aviation Academy located in Tartu. Everyone and their families can make a weekend of this special event by arriving at the lunch meeting at noon on Saturday and after the Estonian Day events leave Salisbury about 5:00 PM with a drive to Ocean City for an evening at the beach before heading home on Sunday!
