This year Estonia celebrated the 150th anniversary of the Estonian Song Festival with the biggest show ever welcoming over 30,000 singers and over 90,000 viewers to the song festival grounds in Tallinn. There’s no better way to continue this celebration of a beautiful tradition by spreading awareness about ways how Estonians kept the culture alive despite historical challenges and used music as a form of peaceful resistance during the singing revolution.
Singing Revolution: The Musical is a New York-based production initiated by a Broadway veteran Tony Spinosa. I’m more than grateful to be able to help along with marketing and design backed by the outstanding team of my company – The VL Studios.
The musical weaves together historical events with a moving love story. The star-crossed-lovers are involved in the revolution against the Soviet Union. Inspired by real-life events on the quaint streets of Tallinn, Estonia, locals struggle for their freedom and the preservation of Estonian culture. The situation becomes complicated when an Estonian falls in love with the Soviet Commander’s daughter.
Learn more about the musical and stay up to date with the most recent news by visiting our Facebook channel & website. We’re excited to release our first music video later this week, featuring a Hamilton cast member Neil Haskell. Definitely get in touch if you have any contacts that could help us raise awareness, funds, and create further connections along the way to make this dream project a reality. We’re so excited and grateful for all the support so far and cannot wait to present the final product on Broadway. Staged readings and industry workshops are planned for this fall, demo recordings available now at www.singingrevolutionthemusical.com!
