Estonian Cinematographer in Hollywood Wins Lifetime Achievement Award
Montreal-born Estonian cinematographer Alar Kivilo, who has been active mainly in Hollywood since 1997, will receive a Lifetime Achievement Awards on November 27 at this year’s annual Black Nights Film Festival (PÖFF) in Tallinn.
Throughout his decades-long career, he has shot most of Hollywood’s biggest stars and his Oscar-nominated films include “The Blind Side” (2009), “A Simple Plan” (1998), and the short subject Oscar winner “Boys and Girls” (1984).

As the northernmost non-Arctic state, “Estonia is willing and ready to take on the responsibility of contributing to the arctic’s sustainable and technological development,” Foreign Minister Reinsalu said.

Minister of the Interior Mart Helme resigned on November 9.
The move follows comments made the previous day regarding the recent U.S. presidential elections.
Mart Helme and Finance Minister Martin Helme, along with MEP Jaak Madison (all EKRE, the Conservative People’s Party) said on their TRE radio talk show that the results of the U.S. presidential elections are falsified and Joe Biden becoming president would mark America’s decline, Delfi reported on Sunday.
