Interior Minister: Security Cooperation Main Topic at U.S. Meetings
Interior minister Mart Helme met with Department of Justice, Federal Bureau of Investigations, the Drug Enforcement Administration, and other law enforcement officials while on a recent trip to the United States. Helme said meetings with his U.S. counterparts were constructive and confirmed the willingness of our countries to cooperate.
Tallinn Town Hall Square Christmas Tree Repurposed
Tallinn City Centre Govern-ment reports receiving over a hundred suggestions on their Facebook page in reaction to asking what they should do with this year’s Christmas tree, which stood in Raekoja plats during the holiday season. The tree’s trunk will be cut into thin sections and made into a path leading to a new reading corner which is to open in Koidula Street in the capital’s Kadriorg neighborhood this summer.
Incredible NASA Career of Twin Brothers of Estonian Heritage
Twin brothers of Estonian descent became top develo-pers of NASA space technology during their career there, which spanned over 50 years. Younger brother Arthur Ruit-berg built devices for the Cassini space probe, as well as for the rover still in use on Mars. Elder brother Edward, who started out at NASA as an engineer, became deputy head of the Hubble Space Telescope program. 50th Annivesary of NY Estonian Culture Days
The 50th annual NY Estonian Culture Days will be held this spring from April 1st through 5th and will include a 3-day-long pop-up restaurant experience offered by chefs from the esteemed Põhjaka restaurant located at the manor house of the same name in Järvamaa, central Estonia.
