TBT – Temperatures in Latvia have exceeded 37 degrees for the first time in the country’s history, weather experts say.
On the 4th of August meteorologists registered 37.8 degrees Celsius in Ventspils. The previous record for Latvia was 36.7 Celsius in Ventspils.
On the same day, temperatures in Rucava reached 36.5 degrees Celsius whilst Pavilosta recorded 35.6 degrees.
Temperatures in Kuldiga and Dobele were 35 degrees Celsius. Riga and Daugavpils recorded 33 and 32 degrees Celsius respectively.
Daugavpils also broke a previous record in 1943 after temperatures reached 36.4 degrees on a sunny August day.
