From May-July, the BALSSI (Baltic Studies Summer Institute) Estonian Program helps students develop their linguistic and cultural competency rapidly and effectively through live online instruction, extracurricular activities, authentic materials, and real-time interactions with instructors and presenters from Estonia. Classes are conducted primarily in Estonian and focus on the rapid development of practical communication skills.
First taught in the Language Workshop in 1993, Estonian is offered as part of the Baltic Studies Summer Institute, a cooperative project of the Baltic Languages Consortium and the Association for the Advancement of Baltic Studies (AABS). BALSSI combines support for the study of Baltic languages with Baltic-focused cultural events and Baltic studies. Classes are small, intimate, and customized to help students achieve their individual academic and personal Baltic-related goals.
We have adjusted our program dates so students can participate in study abroad programs. For more information see here: https://tinyurl.com/4tx5wsb5
