The Siblings Day Foundation is excited to announce that we are making healgrief.org’s AMF (Actively Moving Forward) website available to grieving siblings. Please click https://tinyurl.com/4bx6n9mto check it out. Right now, the AMF website supports grieving adults. In the future, their website might have a specific group for bereaved siblings. This s a wonderful resource and we recommend you explore their website. If you need help signing up, find it within the link. This is a free service.
We were supposed to have our annual fundraising event on April 24, 2020 at the New York Estonian House, a 4-story Beaux-Arts building located at 243 East 34th St between 2nd & 3rd Avenues. The event was postponed due to the pandemic. We will keep you informed of any future events to hold at the Estonian House which we are hoping to be held at this venue annually.
Siblings Day, a.k.a National Siblings Day is held annually on April 10 and it is just around the corner. This year SD falls out on Saturday. We are working with President Biden’s office, urging him to sign a Presidential Proclamation to officially create a National Siblings Day for all Americans in 2021. Our goal also this year is to have all 50 governors proclaim April 10 as National Siblings Day. We have 49 gubernatorial proclamations already, except for CA.
Our plans were curtailed significantly by the coronavirus. We should be able to get back together with our siblings in person soon, but at this time it is mostly virtual. We hope to get back to some degree of normalcy as soon as possible.
We are in the process of creating a GoFundMe Page and will notify you of our progress on social media.Aside from our GoFundMe campaign, we certainly accept all donations of all sizes. Any amount you can donate would be greatly appreciated. No donation is too small or too large. Your donation can help support:
The Sibling-2-Sibling Support Group – a series of interactive group sessions held virtually with psychologists and social workers to help overcome grief.
The Sibling Rights Project – to protect the rights of siblings within a family.
The Lost Sibling Registry – to help in reuniting siblings.
The Adopt-A-Sibling Program – to facilitate the adoption of siblings.
Work on a UN resolution for International Siblings Day.
Ongoing efforts to celebrate National Siblings Day.
Please make your tax-free donation by visiting our secure website (www.siblingsday.org) and click on DONATE NOW or by sending a check payable to: The Siblings Day Foundation, Grand Central Station, PO Box 85, New York, NY 10163.
