At the first annual meeting of the 30 newly-elected members of the XXI Estonian American National Council, one of the main orders of business was to elect a new Board of Directors for a four-year term. The results of the election at the meeting, held September 27-28 in Stamford, Connecticut, are:

The president, Marju Rink-Abel, is assuming her third four-year term. Noteworthy is the fact that many new and younger members were elected to both the Council and Board. Of the eleven Board members, seven are new.
The Estonian American National Council, founded in 1952, is the central organization representing all Estonian Americans. Its focus is two-fold: preserving the Estonian language and heritage in the United States, and with other like-minded organizations, working to ensure that U.S. policy and actions take into consideration issues of importance to Estonian Americans.
